Life is Good...

Here's a photo of pure happiness for you:

I found the cutest wool and sheepskin booties at a thrift store on Saturday for $3.

And I finally got my hands on The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest. I've been on the wait list at the library FOREVER! Let's just say that there isn't much sewing going on this week....

Are you reading anything good these days?

These are adorable!

The best book I read last year was 'The Good Daughters' by Joyce Maynard - LOVED it. Next on my list is The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - I loved the first two! I got it for Christmas and can't wait to get started. I hear it's the best of the three.

Yep, I read the Stieg Larsson books already - what I read over Christmas was all of the free Anne of Green Gables books available on Amazon. Fun reads, interesting to get some sense of how ~1900's-ish Canadians viewed the States (and their involvement in WWI). Now I'm working thru the Vampire Academy books.

Man, those books really got me! They were supposed to be my summer reading and instead I devoured them all in 21/2 weeks! The third one has some boring parliamentary bits, but I just skimmed that to get to the good Lisbeth parts. I recently enjoyed Little Bee (but it's really a tragic read) and Island Beneath the Sea (Isabel Allende).
