Stash Busting Bee...

Are you looking for the give-away post?

I am lovin' my bee inspired virtual quilting bee. So a while back, lizziwhiz suggested starting a Stash Busting VQB as a twist on the typical bee. What fun! What a great way to share (use up) some of the fabrics in my stash. So now we are rolling...
My fat quarter and charm pack stash:
There are two groups for the Stash Busting Bee: 1 for US participants only, and 1 International for people who will ship anywhere. I'm in the International group. And we need a few more players...
More stash:
The basic idea is that when it is your month, you send out approx. 5" square piece of fabric from your stash to each member of the group. They will use their own stash to make you a block and send it back. So in the end you will get a beautiful scrappy quilt. And you get to share the stash love.

Do you want to join? Go check out the 'rules' here and join if you want to share some stash love!

Sew Mama Sew Give-Away!

The give-away is now closed! Thanks for entering. A winner will be posted soon.

It's Give-Away Time! Up for grabs is a Youth Small White T-shirt (should fit a 4 or 5 year old) with a Heather Ross dog appliqued on the front. I machine appliqued him on and I pre-washed it too...Here's that cute little dog. I think he's worried a bigger dog will take his ball. Don't you just love Heather Ross? I've developed an unhealthy obsession. Here's the t-shirt label:
And because you can never have enough Heather Ross, I'm throwing in 2 fat quarters.

Yellow tadpoles in jars:
And green horses. I LOVE the horses.
Give-away open until May 31 at 9pm PST. Winner will be drawn randomly. But so that I can get to know you, let me know your name, where you are from, and what fabric/craft supply you are currently obsessed with. And if you aren't obsessed with fabric or yarn or any other craft supply please let me know how you have avoided it...really I need help!
So here is my example:
Hi, I'm Barb from Beautiful British Columbia, Canada. As you can probably tell, I really love Heather Ross. I love the dogs, I love the horses, I love the little equestrian riders and their clothes. Oh, and I love the little dolls, and the VW vans and the entire Far Far Away...
Good Luck! (and sorry for the dark pictures, it's night-time...)

Simplicity...

I was in a simple mood this weekend. And it was really reflected in my blocks for bee inspired.

First, here is Nettie's block. Can I gush about the fabric enough? I LOVE it. The fishes, the farmer's market, pandas, Little Red Riding Hood, and tiny mice with cheese. What else could you ask for?
Then, Deanna's block. She asked for a strawberry and chocolate star for her daughter. Again I kept it simple. Hope you like them!

It's a gift to be simple...

Hi - I'm Kristi from Tucson, AZ I would love it someone would send a maid over to my house. She could come and clean every couple of weeks. That would be a nice present! Don'tcha think! Then I could sew- sew- sew Happy Birthday

Oh, I'd love a maid too. I always pray that the house keeping fairies will come and clean my house. No such luck just yet.

I didn't get any Far, Far Away for my birthday, but I did get a beautiful strand of pearls. A girl just can't complain about that...

Charity Quilts...and a giveaway!

I joined my local quilting guild a few months ago and signed up to help organize the charity quilts that we give to local children in care. We are giving the quilts away tomorrow and I quickly made two tops last week so we would have enough.

A zig-zag quilt using Amandajean's no triangle tutorial:

A fun Yellowbrick Road quilt using fabric from my stash. I was trying to make 'boy' quilts as there are many teen-aged boys in care in our town. Another guild member quilted them on her long-arm machine.

I've had the horses since the mid-nineties. It was time to use it up.
And since today is my 30th Birthday I thought I would give something to you. So here are two Amy Butler FQs for you. Just leave a comment with your name, where you are from, and what you would like for your birthday. Winner chosen randomly.
So, I'm Barb, from beautiful British Columbia, Canada. And I would love some of Heather Ross' Far, Far, Away for my birthday. Especially those purple unicorns...wouldn't it be a beautiful dress for my little girl?? Give-away closes Friday, May 22 at 9pm PST.

Blocks for Meredith

Here are my blocks for Meredith for bee inspired. They both measure 12.5". Sorry about the terrible pictures - I thought I'd try for an outside photo shoot but our dog was also interested so I was on a very limited time frame. I didn't want any puppy prints on the blocks...
